What's this beer with the odd label?

Mikkeller

Danish Brewer Mikkel Borg Bjergsø has become one of the most well-known gypsy brewers - rather than having their own brewing facilities, they travel around the world brewing with and at other breweries. The experimental nature of these beers has led to  some pretty eclectic labels. We love them, but it does mean that it can be difficult to decipher anything about the beer. Here is our lowdown on the Mikkeller beer we currently have in stock.

American Dream - Lager, 4.6%
Due to the American hops (hence the name) this gives off piney, citrusy hops on the nose. It also has a light malt body which makes this a crisp and very drinkable beer with a good hoppy character to it.
Also available Gluten Free.

Vesterbro Brown - Brown Ale, 5%
Was the original house beer for the Mikkeller bar, now available in bottles. Light brown body with caramel aromas.

Peter, Pale and Mary - Pale Ale, 4.6%
This is golden in colour, strongly hopped in the American style. A well balanced beer, perfect for drinking in the sun.
Also available Gluten free

Beer Weak Brunch Weasel - Oatmeal Stout, 4.8%
A less alcoholic version of the Beer Geek Brunch weasel (which comes in at a massive 11.9%). This has a light body but still plenty of coffee and chocolate aromas to enjoy.

Aroii.JPG

Aroii - Schwarzbier, 5%
This is a dark lager, lightly spiced with malty caramel aromas and even a hint of liquorice.

Mad Pinapple Apple - Herbed Lager, 4.7%
A refreshing beer that leads with chamomile but finishes more tartly with apple and hop aromas. Think more of the flavour volume of herbal tea than a fruit beer.

Amass B&W Red - Amber / Red Lager, 5%
This beer was originally brewed for the Amass restaurant in Copenhagen. It pours a deep red colour with a nutty, biscuity taste. Subtle hints of raisin in the background.

El Celler de Can Roca - Pilsner, 5%
Another beer brewed for a restaurant, this time one in Spain. This is a fruity, hoppy beer with perhaps more bitterness than a traditional pils whilst still remaining a refreshing drink

This is just a hand full of Mikkeller's output, check back in the future for hopefully even more from the range
