New beers from down under

Two beers each from 8 Wired, Tuatara and Yeastie Boys join Little Creatures to expand our antipodean offering.

8 Wired iStout - an impressive imperial stout, sitting at 10% with great coffee, chocolate and smokey notes.

8 Wired Saison Sauvin - this was my favourite beer when I tried it a few months ago - it perfectly highlights the fruitiness of the Nelson Sauvin hop.

Yeastie Boys Gunamatta - an IPA with grapefruit and orange notes, but mainly Earl Grey due to the tea leaves added to this brew!

Yeastie Boys Pot Kettle Black - this hoppy dark beer takes the best from both worlds with chocolate aromas and a distinct hop bitterness.

Tuatara Aotearoa Pale Ale - an American style Pale ale but heavily hopped with South Pacific hops.

Tuatara Bohemian Pilsner - this is a crisp, dry and hoppy pilsner.

Look at that bottle. Just look at it. It has a thumb dent. It has a spine. It has SCALES. Why? Well the Tuatara is a rare New Zealand reptile, quite separate from lizards. Wikipedia tells us that they are also ‘ regarded as the messengers of Whiro, the god of death and disaster, and Māori women are forbidden to eat them.’ I certainly hope we’re allowed to drink their namesake, as this is not only my favourite bottle to hold, but the APA is fast becoming one of my beers of the year.
