From 30-year-old vines grown on clay soils. The grapes were macerated in whole bunches for 1 month before being pressed into old barrels for a 13 month élevage. This is the more structured of the two reds, with plenty of the varietal notes one might expect — dark fruited, with all manner of herbaceous tones on the finish. A wonderful balance here and a wine that we expect will age very gracefully.
