I first tasted this organic red (80% Corvina and 20% Rondinella) in a side street restaurant in Verona. As I was knocked out by its juiciness and all-round drinkability, I hastened to taste with Le Tende. Quite soft and pale in tone, it offers up a subtle scent of cherries and almond cake; and then a sappy, silky palate of red cherries. Light, but perfectly ripe, this has a magical poise and purity. Apparently the previous 2020 vintage was a Tre Bicchieri winner, the top ranking in the prominent Gambero Rosso wine guide, rare for a wine so modestly priced. Tasting this delicious Bardolino from vineyards just east of Lake Garda I can see why. Now-2024 New to us with old school/retro label however the wine is fantastic. Really elegant, fresh and juicy. A lot to enjoy. I have put in the critics review from Janics Robinson below to give a flavour. Nutty review but it makes the point needed!
