Beer of the Week: Abbeydale x Out & About x Queer Brewing Unbeliever Grapefruit Radler

Abbeydale x Queer Brewing x Out & About Unbeliever Grapefruit Radler poured into a Caps and Taps glass on an outdoor table. The beer is a clear pale gold colour.

As though we timed it, the sun's come out for a radler beer of the week.

This Unbeliever Grapefruit Radler is the latest from Abbeydale's Unbeliever series of sour beers, from goses to berliner weisses and radlers. It's a collaboration with Queer Brewing, which aims to provide visibility and representation for LGBTQ+ people in the beer world, and Out & About, a Sheffield-based non-profit trying to create a safe space in the beer community for queer people and allies.

Sheffield's answer to Schofferhofer is actually not quite as sweet, as you might expect from it being part of a series of sour beers. It's tart and really refreshing, with the pithiness of grapefruit more than the sweetness as well as lots of lime–this is all citrus. It's nicely carbonated, giving it a little bit of body, but mostly it's just zingy and zesty and very, very drinkable.
