"An absolute treat, every time I've had it." This is how I described Deya's Steady Rolling Man when I found it available last week on tap at the Rose and Crown pub.
Any time I've found it available on keg I'm hard pressed to choose anything else and it transpires that it loses absolutely none of its magic in a can. This 5.2% pale ale is the very definition of smashable. Big, juicy American hops (Mosaic, Amarillo, Ekuanot and El Dorado) give the beer its fruity, tropical aromatics - think citrusy fruits with hints of grapefruit and pineapple. On the tongue it's soft, almost creamy in texture and boy does it go down smooth.
I'm wary of throwing around superlatives, but if anyone has earned one it's Deya and their Steady Rolling Man.
Deya say they repeatedly brewed their own versions of ridiculously tasty hoppy beers "while listening to the blues greats" so pick up some cans, throw on some Ray Charles, and enjoy - you won't regret it.
